NC Supreme Court to Hear Year Round Lawsuit, WakeCARES vs. WCPSS

Published by dgraff under News

Wednesday, August 27,  the North Carolina Supreme Court announced that they would hear the WakeCARES vs. WCPSS lawsuit regarding parental consent for students to attend year-round schools.

The court also announced that the previous Appellate Court decision continued to be “stayed”, and that Judge Manning’s ruling from the Suprerior Court Trial is still in effect.

This means, that parents in the Wake County Public School system are still entitled to a traditional option, and are NOT mandated to attend a Year Round school.

The Supreme Court Hearing date has not been set at this time.

Again, we appreciate the support we have received from parents throughout Wake County who value choice, and a say in their child’s education.

Your continuted support is appreciated.
